When it comes to Gucci perfume there are a lot to choose from. This article explains the difference between the different Gucci fragrances which have been discontinued and links to where you can still get them.

Table of Contents

Gucci Flora

Gucci Flora is a perfume range which has been around since 2009, but in many different guises.

The original Gucci Flora Eau de Parfum and Eau De Toilette, are now discontinued. I wear the Gucci Flora Eau de Parfum and its one of my favourite perfumes. It’s an orange and osmanthus scent, and I always get compliments on it. It’s amazing for lasting and gives a warm feminine smell which I love for the day time. I’m so sad Gucci Flora is discontinued! Gucci Flora can still be found in the US here, and in the UK & Europe here.

They later released a Gucci Floral Eau Fraiche which is indeed very fresh, but doesn’t have the lasting power of the original Gucci Floral Eau de Parfum.

Over the coming years, various version of Gucci Floral were released, either as limited editions or within the Flora by Gucci Garden Collection

Five different fragrances were released in the Flora by Gucci Garden Collection; Generous Violet, Glamorous Magnolia, Glorious Mandarin, Gracious Tuberose, and Gorgeous Gardenia. The first four are all discontinued and almost impossible to find online.

I though the range was really pretty, but I found with all of them being Eau De Toilette they didn’t last very well. I assume Gorgeous Gardenia was the best seller, as it was re-released as a limited edition a number of times after the Garden Collection was discontinued.

Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur

The release of Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur with Harry Styles as the face of the ad campaign was a bit of a surprise release in my eyes. This is a unisex fragrance and a lot of the advertising came across as gender neutral. I think it’s cool for them to release this type of fragrance, but in my view the scent itself isn’t very nice..

This is a camomile and bitter almond scent, with cedar and sandalwood and a jasmine heart. It feels quite ‘green’ (I guess hence the green bottle and branding) and personally I don’t find it to be feminine. Definitely one for fans of green male scents, but not for those who are fans of Gucci Flora or Gucci Guilty. There is talk of Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur being discontinued but it’s still available on the Gucci website.

Gucci Bamboo

Gucci Bamboo is a pretty floral fragrance, similar to what we typically see from a Gucci perfume. It coincided with the use of bamboo in their handbags and accessories however, I think it has been recently discontinued. It’s a lily, orange blossom and ylang-ylang scent which I think would be a pretty safe perfume gift for someone who likes feminine fragrances and style. It comes in Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette as well as a limited edition pink bottle.

Gucci Rush

Gucci Rush is a classic Gucci perfume. I think this is the oldest perfume Gucci have made which is still sold. Gucci Rush is an amazing patchouli and peach which is known for it’s lasting power and projection, as well as its unique bottle. There is also some coriander in here, so make sure you’re comfortable with that. You can usually get this for a great price given it has been out since 1999.

There is also a Gucci Rush 2, which although discontinued, you can still find it online. This is a while floral fragrance with freesia, Lilly of the valley and the signature musk undertones of Gucci Rush.

Gucci by Gucci

Gucci by Gucci was released in 2007. It’s a sweet and warm honey scent with a patchouli base which makes it last. It’s been discontinued now, I assume because the branding is very different to the current marketing campaigns Gucci has, but you can still find it online at Walmart. It comes in an Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette.

Gucci Premiere

Gucci Premiere was released in 2012 with Blake Lively as the face of the fragrance. Though the bottle is similar to Gucci by Gucci, the perfume is quite different. Gucci Premiere is a pretty white floral with orange blossom and a fresh bergamot top note.

Gucci Envy

Gucci Envy

Gucci Envy was a classic 1990s perfume. Primarily Gucci Envy is a white floral fragrance with strong Lily Of The Valley and Hyacinth notes. If you’re looking for something which smells like Gucci Envy then I recommend Mui Mui Eau de Parfum or Penhaligon’s Lily of The Valley.

Gucci Envy Me

Gucci Envy Me was released in 2004 and is now discontinued. It’s primarily a Peony fragrance with fruity Litchi and a feminine Rose. If you’re looking for a dupe or something that smells like Gucci Envy Me I recommend Versace Bright Crystal Absolu (my article on the entire Versace Crystal perfume range).
