A Guide To Gucci Perfume For Women

When it comes to Gucci perfume there are a lot to choose from. This article explains the difference between the different ranges and different versions of each of the Gucci fragrances for women.

Gucci Guilty

Gucci Guilty is probably the most well known of the Gucci perfumes. There are currently six different versions of the fragrance which comes in a simple tall bottle. Previously Gucci Guilty had come in a gold bottle with the GG logo cut-out but this bottle has since been replaced.

My personal favourite Gucci Guilty is Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme. It’s a blackberry fragrance, underpinned by cypress, woody notes and a which makes this the longest lasting Gucci Guilty perfume.

Recently, two editions of Gucci Guilty were released; Gucci Guilty Love Edition and Gucci Guilty Love Edition MMXXI. The Love Edition is an incredibly powdery violet fragrance – it has a very similar scent to a lipstick or other makeup products, definitely one for those who love violets!

Gucci Guilty Love Edition MMXXI on the other hand is very similar to the original Gucci Guilty with hyacinth and violets.

Gucci Bloom

The release of Gucci Bloom in 2017 coincided with a change in the direction of Gucci’s marketing look and feel, with a move to a classic 1960s vibe. Gucci Bloom is a classic white floral scent made up of tuberose and jasmine, with great lasting power and projection.

The following year the original was followed by two flankers; Gucci Bloom Nettare Di Fiori and Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori. These two fragrances are stronger than the original, with Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori having a green feel to it, with Galbanum leaf and Cassis added to the original formula.

Gucci Bloom Nettare Di Fiori is more similar to the original, but with a fresh ginger added to the top note and honeysuckle and osmanthus to the heart.

In 2019 a new flanker with a red bottle was released, Gucci Bloom Ambrosia di Fiori has rose added to the original tuberose and jasmine which makes the scent a bit deeper and warmer.

The latest edition of Gucci Bloom is Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori which comes in a yellow bottle. This fragrance has some amber notes added like benzoin, making this the warmest in the range and probably the heaviest to

Gucci Flora

Gucci Flora is a perfume range which has been around since 2009, but in many different guises.

The original Gucci Flora Eau de Parfum and Eau De Toilette, which are still available, are hidden gems in my eyes. I wear the Gucci Flora Eau de Parfum, which is an orange and osmanthus scent, and often get compliments on it. It’s amazing for lasting and gives a warm feminine smell which I love for the day time.

They later released a Gucci Floral Eau Fraiche which is indeed very fresh, but doesn’t have the lasting power of the original Gucci Floral Eau de Parfum.

Over the coming years, various version of Gucci Floral were released, either as limited editions or within the Flora by Gucci Garden Collection

Five different fragrances were released in the Flora by Gucci Garden Collection; Generous Violet, Glamorous Magnolia, Glorious Mandarin, Gracious Tuberose, and Gorgeous Gardenia. The first four are all discontinued and almost impossible to find online.

I though the range was really pretty, but I found with all of them being Eau De Toilette they didn’t last very well. I assume Gorgeous Gardenia was the best seller, as it was re-released as a limited edition a number of times after the Garden Collection was discontinued.

In 2021 Gucci Flora was re-released again, this time with a new bottle and with Miley Cyrus as the face of the perfume. This new version is probably the sweetest one yet; they have added brown sugar to the fresh Gardenia of previous incarnations. It actually reminds me a lot of the Juicy Couture fragrances with that sweet berry and pear feel.

The pear blossom mixes with the brown sugar to make a feminine sweet fragrance which has decent projection. I notice this new version of Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia is an Eau de Parfum which is definitely a good thing!

Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur

The release of Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur with Harry Styles as the face of the ad campaign was a bit of a surprise release in my eyes. This is a unisex fragrance and a lot of the advertising came across as gender neutral. I think it’s cool for them to release this type of fragrance, but in my view the scent itself isn’t very nice..

This is a camomile and bitter almond scent, with cedar and sandalwood and a jasmine heart. It feels quite ‘green’ (I guess hence the green bottle and branding) and personally I don’t find it to be feminine. Definitely one for fans of green male scents, but not for those who are fans of Gucci Flora or Gucci Guilty.

Gucci Bamboo

Gucci Bamboo is a pretty floral fragrance, similar to what we typically see from a Gucci perfume. It coincided with the use of bamboo in their handbags and accessories however, I think it has been recently discontinued. It’s a lily, orange blossom and ylang-ylang scent which I think would be a pretty safe perfume gift for someone who likes feminine fragrances and style. It comes in Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette as well as a limited edition pink bottle.

Gucci Rush

Gucci Rush is a classic Gucci perfume. I think this is the oldest perfume Gucci have made which is still sold. Gucci Rush is an amazing patchouli and peach which is known for it’s lasting power and projection, as well as its unique bottle. There is also some coriander in here, so make sure you’re comfortable with that. You can usually get this for a great price given it has been out since 1999.

There is also a Gucci Rush 2, which although discontinued, you can still find it online. This is a while floral fragrance with freesia, Lilly of the valley and the signature musk undertones of Gucci Rush.

Gucci by Gucci

Gucci by Gucci was released in 2007. It’s a sweet and warm honey scent with a patchouli base which makes it last. It’s been discontinued now, I assume because the branding is very different to the current marketing campaigns Gucci has, but you can still find it online. It comes in an Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette.

Gucci Premiere

Gucci Premiere was released in 2012 with Blake Lively as the face of the fragrance. Though the bottle is similar to Gucci by Gucci, the perfume is quite different. Gucci Premiere is a pretty white floral with orange blossom and a fresh bergamot top note.
