Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume vs Not A Perfume Superdose

Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume must be the brand’s most famous scent.
The perfume has earned its fame through a very simple formula which is simply the man-made scent of Ambroxan, accompanied by a slightly ambery note called catalox.
The scent is clean and evokes a very ‘human’ feeling, that is, it’s a scent which reminds you of skin.
Ambroxan can have a slightly different scent on different people – probably because it is mixing with other products on the skin or being excreted by the skin.
Nine years after Not A Perfume was released, a new version, Not A Person Superdose, was also launched. Superdose is pretty similar to the original but instead of majoring on the Ambroxan, it focuses on the Catalox note. Catlox is animalistic, woody and ambery. It can feel a bit medicinal to some people and as I result I don’t think it’s as popular as Not A Perfume original.
Juliette Has A Gun Lady Vengeance vs Vengeance Extreme
The other perfumes which Juliette Has A Gun is known for are the two Vengeance fragrances.
Lady Vengeance was one of their first perfumes and has reminded popular. Both the Vengeance perfumes have strong patchouli notes; Lady Vengeance also majors on rose making it reminiscent of some of the Miss Dior perfumes.
Vengeance Extreme is a stronger, deeper and sexier scent. The patchouli and rose are still main notes but an aromatic lavender and musk also feature.
Both perfumes are good for lasting and can be layered with each other.
I’d recommend Lady Vengeance for the day and Vengeance Extreme for night.

Juliette Has A Gun Lili Fantasy
Lili Fantasy is the latest release from Juliette Has A Gun.
The branding images suggest this is a floral perfume, which is true, but this isn’t a ‘pink floral’ fragrance. The main note here is a tuberose which reminds me a lot of Armani My Way.
There is also a jasmine note which supports the tuberose as well as a chewing gum note. Don’t worry, Lili Fantasy doesn’t make you smell like you have just been chewing gum. Instead this unusual note adds a subtle feminine sweetness which actually works really well with the tuberose, which I’ve always found to be a fresh floral.
Like many of the Juliette Has A Gun perfumes, Ambroxan features in the base. This helps the lasting power which is very good, as is the perfume’s projection.
Juliette Has A Gun Pear Inc
Juliette Has A Gun Pear Inc comes in a pretty transparent turquoise bottle which evokes the pear fragrance note which the perfume is named after.
In addition to a fresh and fruity pear note there is also a strong Ambroxan note (reminiscent of their Not A Perfume fragrance) as well as a musk.
The pear is dominant in the initial minute after it’s sprayed, but soon this fades and the musky Ambroxan takes over.
I think if you like Not a Perfume, and Anyway from Juliette Has A Gun, then you’ll like this.
Juliette Has A Gun Lipstick Fever
Juliette Has A Gun Lipstick Feverhttps://amzn.to/3ql9idK is one of my favourites from the brand. It really does smell just like lipstick!
I remember the smell of lipstick always enticed me as a child before I was allowed to have lipstick of my own; it smelled so grown-up! Lipstick Fever evokes that feeling.
The ‘lipstick’ scent is created through a raspberry and violet mix. There is also an element of iris and patchouli but it’s that powdery violet which gives it that unique make-up scent.
I personally really like perfumes which smell like make-up, check-out my video below which lists out all the perfumes which have a similar vibe.
Juliette Has A Gun Musc Invisible
Reminiscent of White Musk from The Body Shop, Juliette Has A Gun Musc Invisible is a simple and clean musk.
There is a cotton note in the mix which is like the scent of new fluffy white towel – super comforting!
This is a classy musk and I certainly recommend it for musk fans however, in terms of value for money, The Body Shop option would be better.
Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes
As the name suggests, this is definitely a perfume for vanilla fans. Personally, I think this is one of the best vanilla perfumes on the market.
Vanilla Vibes is a pure, clean vanilla which has a salty undertone reminiscent of Paco Rabanne Olympea.
A hint of tonka bean and sandalwood in the base help give the fragrance body, but really this is all about the vanilla.
The lasting power is excellent and I love how clean the salty note makes the vanilla; it doesn’t feel sickly or overpowering.
I think this could work for day-time or night-time and anytime of year; being comfortably warm in the winter and a hot vanilla vibe in the summer.
Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up
Sunny Side Up is a buttery coconut scent which settles into a sandalwood and Ambrette musk hug.
The coconut makes you think of vacations but the warmth of the wood and creaminess of the coconut also create a warm feel which wouldn’t be out of place in cold weather.
Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up is definitely one to try if you’re a fan of coconut fragrances. It isn’t super strong like some perfumes in the range so I’d recommend it for day time use.
Juliette Has A Gun Moscow Mule
Moscow Mule is one of my favourite Juliette Has A Gun perfumes.
After a super zesty lime kick the ginger note (evoking the ginger ale from the cocktail) hits you.
After a few minutes you get a musky note which comes from the warm amaretto musk in the base.
This is refreshing and classy; ideal for hot weather.
I find it doesn’t last as long as some of the other stronger perfumes in the range. But it doesn’t perform badly at all – there is some tough competition when it comes to Juliette Has A Gun perfumes’ lasting power.
Juliette Has A Gun Mmmm…
As the branding suggests, Juliette Has A Gun Mmmm… is a raspberry fragrance.
A vanilla and caramel base works with the raspberry to create a real sweetness.
However, there is much more to the fragrance than the sweet raspberry.
For me, the heliotrope and tuberose which are also in here come through as the fragrance develops. I find heliotrope can be quite device; I can always smell it if it’s there in a perfume!
Juliette Has A Gun Anyway
For me, Juliette Has A Gun Anyway is the first in a pattern of releases from the brand which strongly feature Ambroxan.
Anyway starts with a fresh lime and neroli blast but this is soon replaced with the Ambroxan.
This is a man-made scent which isn’t really something we smell in nature. It’s warm and comforting and kind of smells like soft skin. It’s slightly musky and could easily be mistaken as your ‘natural scent’.
Juliette Has A Gun Gentlewoman
Gentlewoman is an aromatic scent reminiscent of Earl Gray tea.
Soft and calming lavender is accompanied by bergamot, bitter orange and neroli.
Often likened to Tom Ford Neroli Portofino (but more affordable!) this herbal soothing scent is sophisticated and nice for during the day.
Juliette Has A Gun Miss Charming
Long before Parfums de Marly Delina and Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl brought us rose and lychee, Juliette Has A Gun had already created this type of scent with their Miss Charming fragrance.
This is a pretty rose with a kick of lychee and fruits of the forest. There is a sweet Strawberry note in Miss Charming which adds an innocent and playfulness to the composition.
Feminine and indeed charming, this is a nice day time scent which has a medium musky lasting power.
Juliette Has A Gun Citizen Queen
Citizen Queen is a strong powdery aldehyde fragrance, reminiscent of Chanel N.o. 5.
I can see why this perfume has been discontinued by Juliette Has A Gun. It really is strong. I find that the notes they have used in the fragrance; iris, aldehyde and powdery notes can be quite old-fashioned.
If you like Chanel N.o. 5 it would be worth trying this, if you don’t then I doubt you would like Citizen Queen.
Juliette Has A Gun Calamity J.
Juliette Has A Gun Calamity J. is an unusual animalistic fragrance. They have used synthetic versions of civet and castoreum which were common in vintage fragrances when animal ingredients were used.
There is also a cinnamon note which really comes through, alongside iris and an amber patchouli.
Super strong, this amber oriental isn’t for the faint hearted.
I believe this is now discontinued but can be found here.
Juliette Has A Gun Midnight Oud
Midnight Oud was the first Oud perfume from Juliette Has A Gun. I understand that Another Oud which was released later is more popular.
I expect this is because Midnight Oud has quite a soapy rose scent which combines with a medicinal Oud note to create a fragrance which is sharp and a bit harsh.
This is definitely one of those scents which is hard to get away from; it will last on clothes for days and just one spray on the skin is enough.
Again, this is a strong high quality fragrance which isn’t for the faint hearted!
Juliette Has A Gun Another Oud
Another Oud is much simpler than its predecessor Midnight Oud.
The Oud is lighter than expected and complimented by a raspberry note which is noticeable in the opening.
This is a simple, modern and classy oriental scent.
I’d recommend Another Oud for those looking into Oud fragrances; it’s a good ‘intro’ scent.
Juliette Has A Gun Romantica
Juliette Has A Gun Romantica is a soapy rose scent which is simple and undeniably feminine.
I think the soapy note comes from the Iris fragrance note which mixes with the rose, tuberose, patchouli and orange blossom to create a strong floral bouquet.
There is a hint of vetiver, amber and tonka bean in the base which help with the longevity.
Juliette Has A Gun Mad Madame
Mad Madame is another unusual scent and another one which is discontinued.
They have used Castoreum in the perfume which is a synthetic creation made to mimic the animalistic smell of a beaver…. Who wouldn’t want to smell like a beaver..?
There is a mossy and patchouli heart along with a green rose but I could never get away from the leathery animalistic scent.
Certainly a unique perfume!
