In the past I always tended to use perfume on my hair because I felt it helped it last and it meant I kept getting the scent as my hair moved around. However, spraying perfume on your hair isn’t good for it’s condition as the alcohol and acids in the fragrance can breakdown the hair. Recently, lots of fragrance brands have released perfumed hair mists which are specifically designed to be sprayed on the hair.

Perfume hair mists tend to be cheaper than their accompanying Eau de Parfums so I find they’re also a great way to save money when getting a new fragrance. This article outlines my top ten perfumed hair mists and links to where you can buy them.

1. Irresistible Givenchy Hair Mist

Givenchy Irresistible Eau de Parfum is one of my favourite fragrances. It’s a gorgeous modern Rose perfume with a great Pear top not which is so refreshing and pretty. I wear the Irresistible Givenchy Hair Mist every day and love spraying it before bed as well; when I wake up in the morning I’m greeted with Irresistible Givenchy and its a great way to start the day!

2. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Hair Mist

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb is a great long lasting perfume and the Hair Mist is as well. Flowerbomb has been around since 2008 and used to be very popular. I think today it tends to be forgotten about which is a shame because its a great scent. Patchouli, Orchid and pretty floral notes can last on the skin and clothes for the whole day. The Body Cream is also great!

You could definitely use the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Hair Mist instead of the perfume.

3. Miss Dior Hair Mist

The Miss Dior Hair Mist bottle is definitely my favourite out of all the different brand’s hair mist bottles.

Like the Miss Dior Eau de Parfum I find the Miss Dior pour Cheveux to also be fairly light. It’s a light Rose and Bergamot scent which is simple and feminine.

4. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Mist

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Mist is a great way to get the famous Coco Mademoiselle scent at a more affordable price.

I find that the scent lasts pretty well in the hair so if you wear the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette then I think you could swap it for their Hair Mist and save a bit of money!

5. YSL Libre Hair Mist

Yves Saint Laurent Libre is a feminine combination of Lavender and Orange Blossom. It’s warm, calming and classy. I find it quite a ‘safe’ fragrance and also one which can be worn for any occasion.

The YSL Libre Hair Mist can be used to help the fragrance last or worn alone to add a subtle feminine scent to your day.

6. Givenchy L’interdit Hair Mist

L’interdit (which translates to forbidden in French) has been a successful re-launch of their original L’interdit perfume which was created for Audrey Hepburn (read the full back story here).

The Givenchy L’interdit Hair Mist echos the Eau de Parfum with classy white floral notes of Tuberose, Jasmine and Orange Blossom.

I find that the Patchouli base note lingers alongside the white floral notes in the Givenchy L’interdit Hair Mist, which gives it good longevity.

I find that can be found at Neiman Marcus in the US, and Sephora in the UK.

7. Carolina Herrera Good Girl Hair Mist

The best-selling Good Girl perfumes are instantly recognisable due to their iconic stiletto shoe shaped bottle. The Carolina Herrera Good Girl Hair Mist also comes in the same unique bottle with frosted glass.

I recommend using the Good Girl Hair Mist to layer with either one of the Good Girl fragrances or any other scent which has a lot of jasmine and orange blossom.

8. Maison Francis Kurkdujan Baccarat Rouge 540 Hair Mist

Baccarat Rouge 540 is famous for its sweet amber scent which has super lasting power. Its also well known for its high price tag. The Baccarat Rouge 540 Hair Mist 70ml retails for £75 so its much more affordable than the Eau de Parfum 70ml which is £240.

The lasting power of the hair mist is very good and when I wear it I keep getting pleasant waves of the Baccarat Rouge 540 fragrance all day.

9. Mon Guerlain Hair Mist

If you’re looking for a calming scent from a hair mist I recommend Mon Guerlain Brume Cheveux Hair Mist. Lavender is the main fragrance note which creates a subtle aromatic tone which combines with warm Sandalwood and Jasmine to create a classy, scent which is really relaxing.

I love the Mon Guerlain Hair Mist bottle which the flower design on it, I definitely prefer it to the normal fragrance bottle.

10. YSL Black Opium Hair Mist

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium is the most popular coffee fragrance at the moment and a favourite for fans of sweet floral scents. It’s not to be confused with the original YSL Opium from the 1980s which was a deep oriental scent.

Black Opium is a popular evening fragrance (my article on the entire range), so a hair mist is ideal for those more intimate moments. It comes in a cute sparkling bottle which easily fits into your handbag.

Its usually best to get the YSL Black Opium Hair Mist directly from the YSL Beauty website, here it is for the US and the UK.
