Baccarat Rouge 540 is a unisex eau de parfum created by famed French perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. It is a sensual fragrance that is both sweet and warm. Since the release of Baccarat Rouge 540 in 2015 it has grown to become one of the most famous niche perfumes on the planet, with numerous loyal followers.
The fragrance has a sweet amber note which lingers for many hours; alongside a hint of Saffron which adds richness and exclusivity. Baccarat Rouge 540 is a sophisticated scent with a luxurious price tag. As a result, a few perfumes have emerged as great dupes for Baccarat Rouge 540; I’m not sure whether this is intentional or not, but I definitely think there are ways of getting an almost identical scent for a fraction of the price.

Ariana Grande Cloud
I think the most famous dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540 is Ariana Grande Cloud. The two brands couldn’t be more different; Baccarat Rouge is an expensive, premium product only sold in up-market retailers. Ariana Grande Cloud is sold everywhere, has a fun bottle and is about $30-40. However, they really do smell very similar! They also both have good lasting power. I know a number of people who have switched from Baccarat Rouge 540 to Ariana Grande Cloud and nobody has noticed the difference.
Noted Aromas Monte Carlo
Noted Aromas is a perfume dupe brand who make very similar fragrances to best-selling scents. Their Monte Carlo perfume is one of their most popular dupes and I find it is very close to Baccarat Rouge 540. Burberry Her
I think that Burberry Her Eau de Parfum is the second closest dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540 after Cloud. When Burberry Her has settled and dried down it smells very similar, the main difference is a Strawberry top note which adds a fruitiness that Baccarat Rouge 540 doesn’t have.
I think that the lasting power of Burberry Her is slightly less than Baccarat Rouge 540, but given it costs much less, you can afford to keep topping it up throughout the day.
Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’68
Sol de Janeiro is a US brand which first ‘went viral’ for their firming ‘Bum Bum Cream‘. More recently they have released a range of body mists which have really taken the perfume world by storm. Their most popular scent is Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’68; I remember first smelling it and I was instantly reminded of Ariana Grande Cloud and Baccarat Rouge 540.
I have also been blown-away with the lasting power of Cheirosa ’68; I’ve never know a body mist to last the way it does. In my view Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’68 performs like an Eau de Parfum and can definitely be used to layer with any of the perfumes in this article, or worn alone.

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Libera
Signorina Libera really reminds me of a slightly fresher version of Baccarat Rouge 540. The fragrance has a fresh citrus top note which lifts the scent. I recommend Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Libera for anyone who loves the scent of Baccarat Rouge 540 but would like to have something a bit fresher for the summer.
