Fenty is a fashion and beauty brand launched by the famous Barbadian singer Rihanna in 2017. The brand is named after her full name, Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Fenty has quickly become one of the most successful celebrity-driven brands in recent years (turning Rhianna from a millionaire to billionaire) due to its inclusivity and diverse product offerings.
In the beauty category, Fenty is known for its extensive range of foundation shades, which includes a wide variety of skin tones, including those that are often underrepresented in the beauty industry. Fenty has also expanded its makeup line to include lipsticks, eyeshadows, highlighters, and more. The brand’s makeup products are highly praised for their high-quality formulas and long-lasting wear. More recently, Fenty released their first fragrance; simply names ‘Fenty’ which I will review in this article.
Fenty Eau de Parfum is very different to the old Rhianna fragrances which she released at the beginning of her career. Those Rebelle perfumes were sweet and inexpensive, the Fenty fragrance is the opposite.
At $140 you would expect a perfume with good lasting power, Fenty Eau de Parfum doesn’t disappoint on that front. It’s a strong, slightly spicy Amber perfume which has an oriental Rose as its primary note. Although Oud isn’t listed as an ingredient, I feel like I can smell Oud combining with the Rose in Fenty Eau de Parfum. Conversely, Gardenia and Tangerine are listed as fragrance notes but I really can’t smell either. Instead the main note besides the Amber Rose is a Patchouli which really helps with the lasting power.
In addition to beauty, Fenty also offers a range of fashion products. The brand’s clothing line is known for its bold and edgy designs, as well as its inclusive sizing, which goes up to 3XL. Fenty’s fashion offerings include everything from streetwear-inspired pieces to high-end luxury items.
Fenty has also made waves in the lingerie industry with its Savage X Fenty line. The brand’s lingerie is designed to be inclusive and empowering for all body types, with a range of sizes from 30A to 44DDD.
