At first it may feel like Tobacco is an odd ingredient to use in a perfume. However, the rich, slightly sweet scent of Tobacco can create really interesting and sophisticated male and female fragrances. In some cases Tobacco can smell like whiskey or caramel, but in other fragrances it can have a sweet herbal tone which is reminiscent of Hay. This article outlines the best Smoky and Tobacco fragrances for men and women.

Michael Kors Super Gorgeous!

Tobacco isn’t a fragrance note which is used in many women’s perfumes, so when Michael Kors Gorgeous and Super Gorgeous were released it was love at first sniff for me. Both fragrances are feminine yet sexy and interesting. The Tobacco note creates an interesting Hay-like feel to the scent which is warming and great for Autumn.

In Europe MK Gorgeous can be found at Notino, in the US on Amazon.

Maison Margiela Jazz Club

Maison Margie’s Replica range aim to recreate the scents from the real world. Their Jazz Club fragrance is a brilliant, unisex creation which evokes the smoky, boozing feeling of a late-night Jazz Club. I think it’s a sexy and interest fragrance, and perfectly encapsulates the feeling of an underground, late night club.

Maison Margiela Jazz Club is marketed as a male fragrance but personally I think it could be worn by anyone.

Byredo Tobacco Mandarin

Byredo Tobacco Mandarin is one of the newer fragrances from Byredo. As the name suggests it combines Tobacco with a Mandarin Orange top note. However, Tobacco Mandarin is also very balmy, with Oud and Olibanum base notes. It’s also an Extrait De Parfum which means that its very concentrated and heavy; not for the faint hearted.

Byredo Tobacco Mandarin is a unisex fragrance and I think it’s a really classy interpretation of Oud; great for heavy Amber perfume fans.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is a sweet gender neutral fragrance which is ideal for those looking for a sexy evening scent. Vanilla and Tobacco combine with dried fruits, spicy chocolate and warm Tonka Bean to create a sweet winter ‘hug’ of a fragrance.

Definitely a must-have for any Vanilla perfume fans, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille has become one of the brand’s most popular fragrances.

By Kilian Light My Fire

Kilian Light My Fire blends smoky Tobacco leafs with a spicy Cumin top note to create an interesting opening. As the fragrance develops a Honey, and woody Vanilla base emerges which combines well with the Tobacco notes.

Like warm Hay, Kilian Light My Fire is comforting; I recommend it for the Fall and Winter time when you want that Honey-Tobacco hug.

Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb Extreme

The famous Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb perfume for women has a male partner in the form of Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb.

Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb Extreme is the heaviest in the male range; combining Tobacco notes with Vanilla and Pepper to create a real ‘bomb’ of a fragrance.

Dolce & Gabbana The One For Men

Dolce & Gabbana The One For Men has echos of the famous Vanilla tones of The One for Women.

The One For Men Eau de Toilette combines Tobacco notes with Amber and Cardamon to create a fresher, daytime Tobacco scent. The One For Men Eau de Parfum is heavier and more suited to evenings, it’s also my personal favourite of the two.

Diesel Only The Brave Tattoo

Diesel Only The Brave Tattoo is my personal favourite Diesel men’s fragrance; probably because I’m a sucker for anything fruity! Only The Brave Tattoo combines Red Apple with a woody Tobacco note to create a sexy every day fragrance which I think is much more interesting than the original Only The Brave fragrance. Diesel fragrances tend to be very affordably priced so Diesel Only The Brave Tattoo can usually be found for around $30-$40.
