In addition to the popular Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey perfume range there is also a range of five ‘Pure’ fragrances. These come in golden bottles and have a fruiter vibe than the original Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey perfumes. This article explains what each smells like and the difference between the five.

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure

In 2016 the first Pure perfume was released by Issey Miyake. This fragrance has echos of the original L’eau d’Issey with lily and sea breeze notes.

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure is definitely more salty and sea-like than the original.

Super fresh, watery, and to me quite unisex

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Eau de Toilette

This lighter version of the first Pure perfume is a less concentrated Eau de Toilette.

For some reason the ambergris and a peppery scent note seem to really come across in the initial few minutes after the first spray of Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Eau de Toilette.

Again, I find this fragrance very unisex.

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum is probably my favourite of the five fragrances in the Pure range.

This is a warm fruity honey scent accompanied by a femenine rose and peony.

there is also a fresh yet warm pear note in here which mixes perfectly with the honey.

After time Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum settles into a rosy cashmere scent which still has a hint of the fruity honey notes.

The initial spray has a hint of bergamot which brings out the freshness of the peony.

This perfume really has some many different characters which change form the first few seconds through to an hour after wearing – delightful!

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Petal De Nectar

Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Pure Petal De Nectar Eau de Toilette is a lighter version of Pure Nectar Parfum.

The scent feels simpler and more spring-like; focusing simply on a honeyed rose note which lets the pear really be the star of the show in the first few minutes.

The peony and bergamot have been removed, as well as some of the stronger base notes from the Parfum, which again lets the rose have more presence.

Issey Miyake Nectar d’Issey Premiére Fleur

Issey Miyake Nectar d’Issey Premiére Fleur really reminds me of J’adore from Dior.

This is first and foremost a floral scent; made up of jasmine and peony.

There is a fruity Nashi pear note which blends seamlessly with the floral notes. To me it doesn’t stand out as a pear note on it’s own, instead it keeps the jasmine fresh and pretty.

This is an Eau de Parfum but I find it lasted ok but not for as long as the Pure Nectar Perfume does.
