The Australia singer Kylie Minogue has had a successful and affordable fragrance range since 2006. All her fragrances were briefly discontinued but in 2022 she re-released her original Darling perfume. This article explains what Darling and the newer Disco Darling smell like, and compares them to the original Darling perfume from 2006.
Kylie Minogue Darling
Kylie Minogue’s first fragrance was called Darling and it came in a very similar bottle. The original Darling fragrance launched in 2006 proved to be a big hit and had a loyal following, it was an affordable every day fragrance. I was very surprised when it was discontinued and welcomed its re-release. However, the 2022 version of Kylie Minogue Darling is not exactly the same as the original The bottle has a slightly different lid and the fragrance is not as strong. The fruitiness of the original has been replaced by the Sandalwood of Darling 2022. It feels a bit more mature and serious when compared to Darling 2006. Considering you can usually get Kylie Minogue perfumes for under £20 I think it’s still very good value. The bottle is sturdy and slim, so it can easily fit it into your handbag and use it to top up your scent during the day.
Kylie Minogue Disco Darling
When I first heard that the latest Kylie Minogue perfume was to be called Disco Darling I assumed that it would be a sexy, fruity perfume made for the evening. Conversely, I find Disco Darling to be quite a fresh fragrance that I would recommend for the daytime. The main note is a green apple which is sharp and refreshing. The floral heart notes include peony which is very clean and light; this lets the citrus top note shine through.
