The Cheirosa body mist range from Sol De Janeiro has ‘gone viral’ recently, with their fragrances appearing on review articles and YouTube channels on a regular basis. The Vegan & Cruelty-free range used to be called Brazilian Crush but has recently been rebranded to Cheirosa, with each fragrance having a number rather than a name.
Sol De Janeiro was founded by American Heela Yang who was inspired by her partner’s Brazilian heritage. The Brazilian word Cheirosa means ‘to always smell delicious’ in English, and the fragrances do have lots of edible fruity notes in them.
Sol De Janeiro was originally made famous for its Bum Bum cream which is made for when you’re wearing your bikini on the beach. More recently, their fragrances have become another hero product for the brand.Fragrance Release Fragrance Notes Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 39 Coco Cabana 2019 Coconut, Praline, Vanilla Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 40 2021 Plum, Vanilla, Cassis Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 2020 Salted Caramel, Almond, Pistachio Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 68 2022 Dragon Fruit, Lychee, Vanilla Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 71 2020 Caramel, Macadamia Nut Cheirosa Sea & Sol 2022 Starfruit, Pink Pepper, Violet, Sandalwood Cheirosa Tan Lines 2022 Coconut Milk, Tuberose, Ylang-ylang Cheirosa Tropical Nights 2022 Jasmine, Vanilla, Patchouli, Tobacco Do Not Disturb 2023 Fresh Linen Bikini Season 2023 Guava, Lemon, Coconut Water When In Rio 2023 Jasmine, Pear, Vanilla After Hours 2023 Blackcurrant, Jasmine, Patchouli Cheriosa 69 2024 Vanilla, Violet, Sandalwood

Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 39 (Coco Cabana)
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 39 (formally known as Coco Cabana) is my personal favourite fragrance from Sol De Janeiro. It’s a super Coconut perfume, specifically, I think it smells just like decimated Coconut. The slightly sweet Vanilla undertones works well with the Coconut to create an ideal Vacation scent!
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 40
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 40 combines Plum and Vanilla to create a sweet fruity floral fragrance. I personally find Cheirosa 40 to be one of the least unique fragrances in the Sol de Janeiro range.
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 is a sweet Salted Caramel fragrance, though I have to say I don’t find it as strong or as sweet as Cheirosa 71. Perhaps the Salt and a nutty Pistachio and Almond combination tone down the sweetness of the Caramel. Overall, Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 smells like a Salted Caramel desert.
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 68
In my view, Sol de Janeiro is a close dupe to Ariana Grande Cloud and Baccarat Rouge 540. It has the same slightly sweet, Ambrette Musk feeling as both fragrance and an impressive lasting power. In fact, I think Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 68 is the longest lasting body mist I’ve ever tried, I can’t recommend it enough.
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 71
Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 71 is the sweetest perfume in the range. Vanilla and Caramel are accompanied by a sugary White Chocolate which is very sweet.
If you like your strong Vanilla or Caramel fragrances, this would be a great scent for layering.
Cheirosa Sea & Sol
Cheirosa Sea & Sol is an aquatic fragrance which is super refreshing. An unusual Starfruit fragrance creates a fun and slightly fruity top note. A Violet heart adds a slightly muskiness and femininity, while aquatic driftwood notes recreate the fresh scent of the ocean.
Cheirosa Tan Lines
Tuberose and Ylang-ylang make Cheirosa Tan Lines one of the more floral fragrances from Sol De Janeiro. A fresh Coconut milk scent adds a tropical vibe and a hint of Vanilla and amber generate the warmth associated with the Sol De Janeiro body mists.
Cheirosa Tropical Nights
Cheirosa Tropical Nights is an interesting scent which will work well for evenings on holiday, so the name Tropical Nights feels very appropriate. I love the Mandarin Oil top note as well as the Night Blooming Jasmine which is my favourite kind of Jasmine scent (check out my article on the different types of Jasmine in perfume).
A sexy Tonka Bean base and Tobacco leaf add an elegance and sophistication to Cheirosa Tropical Nights which I really like, I think this might be my favourite Sol de Janeiro fragrance.
Do Not Disturb
Sol De Janeiro Do Not Disturb gives me ‘clean cotton’ vibes with its airy and ozonic fresh top notes. As it settles a hint of musk emerges which creates a scent reminiscent of freshly laundered sheets or the scent which fills the room after you’ve been ironing.
Bikini Season
I think Bikini Season is my favourite Sol De Janeiro perfume mist; I find it so addictive! Guava and lemon notes create a sort of sherbet orange scent which reminds me of Escada Miami Blossom. There is a hint of coconut water which adds to the tropical feel. Sol De Janeiro Bikini Season is my current go-to summer scent for whenever I want those feel-good tropical vibes.
When In Rio
Sol De Janeiro When In Rio is a classic Victoria’s Secret style fragrance mist. Jasmine, pear and vanilla create a fruity and sweet fragrance which is young and very fun. This is a fragrance for hot summer days when you want to feel super girly!
After Hours
In 2023 the limited edition Sol de Janeiro After Hours was released. This is a blackcurrant and jasmine fragrance which is a bit of a dupe for Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. Unlike Flowerbomb, After Hours is relatively light; which is to be expected from a body spray where the fragrance oil concentration will be low.
Sol de Janeiro After Hours is available at ASOS
Cheirosa 59
The new Cheirosa 59 aims to capture the essence of a captivating Brazilian sunset with its exotic notes. Infused with the soothing warmth reminiscent of the sun’s descent, the mist gracefully envelops the skin in a luxurious blend of creamy vanilla orchid and the delightful fragrance of sugared violet, creating a sensory journey that uplifts the spirit. As a sensuous finale, sheer sandalwood contributes subtle spicy undertones, providing a captivating and enticing conclusion to this olfactory experience.
