Welcome to my guide to Cacharel fragrances. Established in 1962, Cacharel is a French fashion house that has created a unique and in my view underrated range of fragrances. From classic timeless scents to modern, contemporary fragrances, Cacharel has something to suit everyone. In this guide, I will explore the different Cacharel fragrances available (with a separate article on the Cacharel Yes I Am perfume range), discussing the notes and scents that make each one unique. Lou Lou
Lou Lou is one of the most famous Cacharel perfumes; it’s a strong amber floral fragrance with top notes of plum, iris, lily and jasmine, blended with heart notes of orange blossom. Vanilla is a dominant fragrance note and it combines with the floral elements rather quickly to create something which reminds me of the original Mugler Angel. Cacharel Lou Lou is rather controversial, you’ll either love it or hate it!
Eden
Eden by Cacharel is a super strong, green fragrance. The scent opens with citrus, and then evolves to reveal notes of mimosa and water lily. A patchouli base is what creates the lasting power of Cacharel Eden; this is definitely a fragrance for patchouli lovers!
Noa
Cacharel Noa is a soft, powdery, floral lotion type fragrance. On the initial spray it has a musky sweet feeling. In the dry down, soft vanilla and delicate woody notes settle into the florals with strong musk notes. If you don’t like strong fragrances, then this delicate and intimate fragrance is the one for you!
Noa Dream
Noa Dream is a Chypre Floral fragrance which has the same undertone as Noa, but is sharper and colder. On the first spritz I smell white flowers which paint a dreamy picture, it gives me the sensation of being in a protective coat. Overall, I like this fragrance, it lasts well, is very delicate and feminine.
Amor Amor
Amor Amor, one of my favourites from Cacharel. If you’re a fan of fruity floral perfumes than Amor Amor is a very affordable option. It opens with a tart fruity note before settling into a blackcurrant, and mixed berry cocktail. I would recommend this as a perfect first date perfume because it’s fun but intoxicating. One of my good friends wears this and I can always smell it on her; it has great projection and longevity!
Amor Amor Forbidden Kiss
Amor Amor Forbidden Kiss is a complex fragrance; it starts out sweet and citrusy. As it develops on my skin, a coffee accord tends to mix with these juicy fruit note which includes a sour grapefruit. It is a relatively heavy fragrance and hence, I prefer to use this during the cooler seasons during the nighttime. Overall, it has a dark mystical, rebellious and sexy vibe to it.
Amor Amor Electric Kiss
Amor Amor Electric Kiss is a wonderful and feminine fragrance that is not loud and offensive but rather a soft and light fragrance made for summer.
If you know and like Amor Amor, you will definitely like this one because they are very similar, but Electric Kiss it’s a bit sweeter and fresher due to its rhubarb top note. A rose heart and patchouli base create the signature Amor Amor DNA and lasting power.
Amor Amor Love Festival
Amor Amor Love Festival is a fruity floral fragrance which is a fun lemonade bomb. It has a citrusy-sweet, refreshing and zesty scent that makes it very festive like its name. I really find its fusion of notes very unique as it is composed of Coca-Cola, grapefruit, alongside a jasmine heart and creamy vanilla base. It has moderate longevity and sillage, definitely worth a try!
Anais Anais
Cacharel Anais Anais is a heavy, powdery floral fragrance which opens with a bouquet of lily, hyacinth, honeysuckle and blackcurrant. Anais Anais is a classic vintage scent which has had loyal wearers since its release in 1978.
Anais Anais L’Original Eau de Toilette
Anais Anais L’Original Eau de Toilette is lighter version of the original scent (the original Anais Anais is discontinued). It is a very soapy clean feeling which makes this classic white floral scent traditional and long lasting. The lasting power is excellent and very impressive given it can often be found for around £20.
Anais Anais Premier Delice
Anais Anais Premier Delice is a floral fruity fragrance that is delightful, young and feminine. It opens with a fresh pear and luscious cacao notes followed by a floral bouquet of galbanum and peony. It has moderate sillage and longevity, I recommend it for the fall or spring time due to its pleasant and welcoming gourmand notes; it’s rightly called the “Premier Delice”.
Scarlett
Scarlett is one of those perfumes that carries me to a contemplative dream, it’s a youthful and innocent fragrance for spring and summer. I enjoy the fresh, citrusy scent with its interesting layering of tea, pear, jasmine & honey. It has a warm sandalwood & musk dominated base. To me, this is a perfume with average longevity and sillage, which is refreshing and relaxing.
Catch Me
Cacharel Catch Me has a rather sharp opening with sparkling notes of Italian mandarin and petitgrain. This isn’t a groundbreaking fragrance yet I find it enchanting and modern, to me it’s like a playful bottle carrying the city lights in it. It has average longevity and sillage, a definite summer fragrance for me.
Promesse
Cacharel Promesse is a Floral Fruity fragrance that is refreshingly light and is perfect for springtime. Dominant accords of orchid and jasmine, intertwined with citrus notes, blackcurrant, amber and musk which makes it a romantic, elegant and light scent. This fragrance is quite intense and vibrant. It is my ‘happy day’ perfume!
