Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal

Since Marc Jacobs Honey was discontinued, it has been difficult to find a scent where Honey is the main perfume note. Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal is now the go-to fragrance for Honey perfume fans.

The Honey isn’t super sweet or overwhelming, instead is warm and calming.

Alongside the warm Honey scent, there are pretty Gardenia and Orange Blossom floral notes which for me, make Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal a daytime scent.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal By Night

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal By Night is my personal favourite in the Scandal perfume range. Its powerful and sexy and is everything I’d expect from a perfume named Scandal.

The Honey is accompanied by a fruity Cherry note and warm Tonka Bean. Patchouli and woody notes help with lasting power, while Tuberose and Orange Blossom create fragrance projection.

For me, Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal By Night is a sexy date night fragrance which I really like. Unfortunately, it’s now discontinued and can only be found on eBay.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal A Paris

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal A Paris is a lighter version of the original Scandal perfume.

Initially a fresh and fruity Pear perfume note dominates, this is then followed by the signature warm Honey note and a hint of floral Jasmine.

Pear fans should definitely try Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal A Paris, though I do recommend Irresistible Givenchy or Jimmy Choo for a longer lasting pear scent.

It’s an Eau de Toilette which means it only lasts an hour or two.

Jean Paul Gaultier So Scandal!

Jean Paul Gaultier So Scandal! was the first version of Scandal which doesn’t use a Honey perfume note.

Instead, Jean Paul Gaultier So Scandal! is a Tuberose and milky Raspberry perfume. It’s a fairly strong Tuberose (reminiscent of Armani My Way) which makes the perfume almost feel like a raspberry chewing gum.

Sweet and floral, I do think So Scandal! is a sexy perfume, but it doesn’t have the warmth of the original and Scandal By Night.

Scandal Le Parfum

2022 saw the release of Scandal Le Parfum. This strong, sweet scent is an Eau de Parfum Intense which means it is more concentrated than a typical Eau de Parfum.

Scandal Le Parfum is all about sweet Caramel and Vanilla notes which make it a sexy, night time fragrance. A nod to the original Scandal Jasmine heart is there in the heart as is a saltiness which is reminiscent of Paco Rabanne Olympea and Dior Hypnotic Poison.

Scandal Gold

After an initial limited release exclusive to the Middle East, Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Gold was made available worldwide in 2023. The scent is a departure from the previous incarnations of Scandal. The main notes are Saffron and Leather which create a deep, unisex fragrance which is spicy and sexy. I think Scandal Gold is the strongest in the this perfume range; although the signature honey note is included it isn’t that noticeable over the strong spicy notes.

Scandal Absolu

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Absolu is the strongest fragrance in the range. A deep and creamy sandalwood is the lingering note in the scent which stays on the skin and clothes all day. Scandal Absolu has the sweet DNA which run across the range, as well of echos of So Scandal! though a tuberose heart note.

This is a super sexy fragrance made for evenings and date nights, use with caution during the day!
