Best Saffron Perfumes

The forth version of YSL Libre, Le Parfum is the strongest in the YSL Libre range and the only one which includes Saffron. The signature Lavender, Orange Blossom and Vanilla of the original YSL Libre Eau de Parfum all feature, but the floral notes are less prominent which allows the warm, sexy Saffron note to shine through.

Saffron is often combined with an Amber perfume note. In Miller Harris Peau Santal Saffron is combined with Olibanum and Sandalwood which creates a deep, unisex Amber fragrance which I recommend for the winter months.

Parle Moi De Parfum are a niche French fragrance house (my article on their entire range). Their Saffron Wood fragrance is a unisex Rose, Leather and Saffron scent. Leather and Saffron are ideal fragrance partners; with the Saffron bringing out a slightly sweetness in the Leather. Rose is also a common note to combine with Saffron; this makes the Rose warmer and more unisex than a typical Rose scent.

Acqua Di Parma are an Italian fragrance brand who have collaborated with Harrods to create an exclusive unisex fragrance called Zafferano.

This unique combination of Saffron and woody Orange Blossom is classy and elegant. Zafferano is a warm and unisex fragrance which could be worn at any time of day throughout the year.

One of the less well-known fragrances from Narciso Rodriguez, Narciso Rodriguez For Her Rose Musc is an intense spicy Rose fragrance which uses Saffron and Cinnamon to create deep, slightly Gourmand undertones.

The original Narciso Rodriguez For Her is a soft, powdery feminine fragrance which is completely different to Rose Musc. Check out my article on every version of Narciso Rodriguez For Her.

Lalique is a French glass company who also create beautiful fragrances. Soleil Vibrant is one of Lalique’s newest fragrances. It’s a gorgeous, feminine Saffron perfume which opens with a fresh Pear note which I love! Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Vanilla then follow which help support the slightly sweet Saffron note. I think Lalique Soleil Vibrant is one of the classiest perfume’s I own; its unique and smells exquisite, it’s my favourite Saffron perfume.

The Bvlgari Omnia fragrances come in unique shell-shaped bottle which are great for travelling.

Bvlgari Omnia Indian Garnet is a fresh Orange and Saffron perfume which is ideal for the summer time. The Saffron makes the perfume elegant while the Orange is very refreshing.

Byredo Black Saffron is a dark but gentle Suede and Saffron fragrance which is suitable for men or women. Juniper Berries create an aromatic feeling to Black Saffron and Raspberry and Violet add freshness.

Byredo Black Saffron is an Eau de Parfum and lasts about four hours. I think it’s a good night-time fragrance but could be worn in the day time in the Fall or Winter.

Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdujan is famous for its deep, Amber and Saffron scent as well as for its lasting power. The high price tag ($325 or £250) is justified by the strength and lasting power of Baccarat Rouge 540. Although they don’t contain Saffron, I recommend Burberry Her and Ariana Grande Cloud as much more affordable dupes for Baccarat Rouge 540.
