YSL Libre Eau de Parfum

Released in 2019, YSL Libre Eau de Parfum was the first in the range to be released. It’s best described as a lavender floral fragrance; the floral notes being orange blossom and jasmine.

With lavender as the main note I find YSL Libre has quite a calming feminine feel to it. Lavender is often used to help people sleep or in bath products.

Orange blossom and jasmine are both quite strong floral notes so they give the fragrance a good body and help it last.

I think YSL Libre Eau de Parfum is a good ‘every day’ scent suitable for any occasion really. It’s feminine without being sweet or overpowering.

YSL Libre Intense

YSL Libre Intense takes the lavender, jasmine and orange blossom of the original and adds tonka bean and vanilla to create a sexier and warmer fragrance.

Tonka bean is a great fragrance note because it helps a perfume last, its super warming and comforting, and it helps take the sweetness out of the vanilla.

For me, this is an evening or winter scent; perhaps one could wear the original YSL Libre during the day then layer this on for the evening.

It is also better for lasting than the original as it’s a more concentrated intense formula.

YSL Libre Eau de Toilette

YSL Libre Eau de Toilette is my personal favourite in the YSL Libre perfume range.

The lavender is still included in the scent mix but it’s not as dominant as it is in the other versions of YSL Libre.

Instead the orange blossom is allowed to be the star of the show, and this is supported by a fresh mandarin orange and bergamot.

This is definitely a day time scent, and probably best for spring/summer. It’s fresher and more care-free than the other two in the range.

I’m a sucker for oranger blossom so I think that’s why it’s my favourite! I have an article on the Best Orange Blossom perfumes if you’re a fan of them too.

It is an Eau de Toilette though so don’t expect it to last more than 3 to 4 hours.

YSL Libre Le Parfum

The latest release in the YSL Libre range is YSL Libre Le Parfum. This version is the strongest fragrance in the range; it’s a highly concentrated formula with more perfume oil in than even the intense version.

The signature Lavender, Orange Blossom and Vanilla are all still there but a spicy element has been added. A sharp Ginger top note combines with Saffron to a more oriental fragrance than we have seen before from Libre.

YSL Libre L’Absolu Platine

The 5th version of YSL Libre, YSL Libre L’Absolu Platine is completely different to the previous perfumes in the range. This is a fresh and clean scent which combines fresh bergamot with lavender; a combination often used in male fragrances. The aldehyde top note creates a slightly soapy accord which overall feels versatile and unisex.

Dua Lipa for YSL Libre

Dua Lipa has been the face of YSL Libre since its release, shooting different campaigns for each new fragrance.
