Musk is a scent which post people are familiar with but it’s quite hard to actually describe what it smells like. The Musk fragrance in perfumes was originally sourced from a secretion from the male deer (don’t ask me how it was first discovered) but today the fragrance note is created synthetically. Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc
When I think of Musk perfumes I automatically think about Narciso Rodriguez. Their ‘For Her’ perfume range is a selection of very classy Musk fragrances which are universal and good for lasting. Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc is the simplest fragrance in the range; its literally just about a clean musk which reminds me of fresh cotton.
Glossier You
Glossier is primarily as makeup brand but their one fragrance called Glossier You has been a real success. It’s a clean, Musk perfume which has good lasting power and feels classy and feminine.
Chanel Chance
The original Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum is a Patchouli, Pink Pepper and Musk fragrance which has a clean, simple classiness that makes it ideal for the office. The Chance range in general aren’t known for their lasting power, but Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum is definitely the best in the range for longevity. I know two people who wear this every day and they both top-up around lunch time; but I can smell Chance on them all day.
Kayali Musk
The Kayali fragrances are created by Mona Kattan, the sister of the Huda Beauty founder. Kayali Musk is one of her original fragrances. It’s a clean Musk with a hint of Vanilla and Jasmine; ideal for layering with other perfumes to add a musky vibe.
Ariana Grande God Is A Woman
God is a Woman is one of the newer fragrances from Ariana Grande (my article on all her perfumes). The fragrance uses Ambrette Musk and Orris to create a quite strong, feminine Musk perfume. There is also a pretty Pear opening note which keep the fragrance innocent and fruity.
The Ariana Grande perfumes in general tend to be good for lasting and very affordable so I definitely recommend God Is A Woman as an affordable Musk perfume option.
Parle Moi De Parfum Milky Musk
A niche Musk perfume is the unisex Milky Musk from Parle Moi De Parfum. This fragrance is a simple combination of Sandalwood and Musk which creates a creamy, classy Musk fragrance suitable for men and women. Parle Moi De Parfum fragrances can be found at John Lewis and Selfridges.
The Body Shop White Musk®
The iconic White Musk fragrance from The Body Shop was released in 1981 and has been a staple for the brand ever since. Their Vegan and Cruelty-free formula’s led the way for the conscious fragrance movement and I love that they do entire body product ranges for different scents.
