After starting as an independent brand in Sweden in 2006, Byredo has become a popular name in the fragrance industry, offering an array of luxurious and unique scents. In my view, Byredo is a luxury fragrance brand as they tend to only be sold in high-end stores and a rarely discounted from their high price point.

1. Byredo Gypsy Water
Byredo Gypsy Water is a unisex fragrance that captures the nomadic lifestyle of the Romani people. The scent is a mix of pine needles, lemon, peppermint, juniper berries, and a hint of incense and amber. Personally, I find the fresh lemon note to be the one which lingers and is the most noticeable. With its unusual combination of fragrance notes, Gypsy Water evokes a dreamy, romantic atmosphere which, due to its freshness, I recommend for the day time.
2. Byredo Mojave Ghost
Byredo Mojave Ghost is characterized by a mix of light, transparent and delicate notes, evoking the desert landscape of the Mojave. The top notes of the scent are characterised by a unique Sapodilla fruit note, which is followed by delicate ambrette musk and violet leaf. Together, with ambergris and sandalwood these notes create a soft, woody scent with a hint of sweetness. Mojave Ghost is a classy and mysterious scent which could be worn to pretty much any occasion.

Byredo Bal d’Afrique is an aromatic unisex fragrance that celebrates the culture and energy of modern African cities. It is a spicy and woody scent, with top notes of lemon and herbal flowers. After this refreshing opening Bal d’Afrique reveals a vetiver and African orange flower heart which is clean and long lasting. Mixed Emotions is one of my favourite Byredo perfumes because I love a fruity fragrance! The main note is blackcurrant so this creates a light-hearted opening. This is then followed by an unusual mate note, birch and papyrus; these notes take away any sweetness from the blackcurrant and instead creates a smoky feeling.
Byredo Mixed Emotions is interesting and unique, exactly what you want from a niche fragrance.
5. Byredo Slow Dance
Byredo Slow Dance opens with a boozy cognac note which evokes the feeling of the nighttime. Balmy vanilla and incense and a patchouli base add depth and intrigue to this evening fragrance. I recommend Slow Dance as a date night scent; I think the cognac note is too boozy for the day time!
