La Marais
La Marais is my personal favourite in the Sentier fragrance collection. This is a fun, fruity floral scent which evokes the freedom and life of the streets of Paris. I’m a sucker for any berry themes perfume and the blackcurrant and raspberry in La Marais hit the spot perfectly. Fresh floral notes soon follow which create a pretty and very wearable every day fragrance.
Balade In Autumn
I understand that Balade In Autumn is one of Sentier’s best sellers and I can certainly see why. This is a unique, warm and autumnal scent which is cosy and sophisticated. A woody, resin note creates a uniquely unisex scent which evokes the feeling of walking through a forest in the Autumn. A bitter orange (the meaning of Balade) adds a freshness without any sharpness, lifting the fragrance while keeping the warmth.
Esteemed Musk
Esteemed Musk is a like, clean fragrance which reminds me of freshly laundered cotton sheets. Fresh lemon and bergamot create the citrus opening which is followed by a subtly musk. I recommend this for someone looking for a delicate perfume which give you that ‘just got out of the shower’ feeling.
Oud Gaiac
This fragrance threw me off with its name. Typically, Oud perfumes are very strong, oriental and spicy; it’s an ingredient found in my heavy middle-eastern inspired scents. In Oud Gaiac however, I don’t get any of those accords. Instead this is a clean fragrance with the apple and bergamot notes coming through the strongest. The ylang-ylang and vanilla are subtly and musky; there isn’t any of the typical amber feeling I expect from an Oud perfume.
Path Of Lemons
Path of Lemons is a great, fresh citrus scent. It evokes the scent of a lemon tree; combining the scent of the fruit with the leaves of the trees which grow it. The orange blossom note helps the perfume project; something which is hard to find in a lemon perfume.
Rose Taif
Sentier Fragrances’s Rose Taif is a modern floral perfume. Rose can sometimes be associated with old-fashioned scents where the floral accord is powdery or spicy. In Rose Taif the addition of rose wood and geranium help modernise the scent while cardamon adds a fresh and sharp opening note. I recommend Rose Taif as an easy-going, every day floral perfume.
Mémoire Du Temps
Mémoire Du Temps (translated to Memory of Time) is a classical floral perfume. The mossy undertones create a ‘green‘ accord which combines with the floral bouquet and aromatic sage to create the type of scent we saw a lot in the 90s. It reminds me a little bit of Estée Lauder White Linen actually; a timeless classic.
Monde á Part
Monde á Part which means ‘world’s apart’ is a spicy fragrance with warm nutmeg and tangerine. The amber undertones create a quite serious scent which would work well in a professional environment. Monde á Part feels sophisticated, clean and interesting, whilst leaning toward a slightly more masculine type fragrance family.
Rán
Parisian Embrace
Parisian Embrace evokes the mystery of Paris at night and is one of the stronger fragrances in the Sentier range. The liquorice really comes through, which reminds me a lot of the YSL Black Opium range. Sweet vanilla is tempered by bitter almond and fruity notes which feel sexy and complicated. For me this is an evening perfume ideal for date night!
