Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette

The iconic Marc Jacobs Daisy was released in 2007 and has remained a firm best seller ever since. The unique Marc Jacobs Daisy bottle lid with three plastic flowers on was hugely popular and wasn’t something we’d seen from a perfume bottle before.

The scent ironically doesn’t actually have any daisy perfume notes in. Instead Marc Jacobs Daisy is actually a violet fragrance with a lot of super fresh ozionic notes like grapefruit and gardenia. A hint of strawberry tops off the top notes and helps make the perfume feel quite young and carefree.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette is often liked by fans of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre and similar light fragrances. Being an Eau de Toilette Marc Jacobs Daisy isn’t a strong perfume. I recommend going for Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum which comes in a black bottle if you’re looking for something that lasts.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Black Edition

Marc Jacobs Daisy Black Edition

Marc Jacobs Daisy Black Edition, released a year after the Eau de Toilette version is the same scent but in an Eau de Parfum concentrate.

This is still however, a light fragrance with light fragrance notes, so don’t expect this to be heavy.

The black bottle makes this look like it will be a strong fragrance but it remains a light fresh floral scent.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Bloom

Marc Jacobs Daisy Bloom was a limited edition which is very hard to find online these days.

As the green colour daisies suggest, this is indeed a green fragrance. Along with the signature Daisy violet scent there is an outdoor green vibe which is very refreshing – like freshly cut grass.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Silver Edition

2009 saw a limited Marc Jacobs Daisy Silver Edition. This is the original Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Parfum scent but in a pretty silver and gold bottle.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Garland

Marc Jacobs Daisy Garland

Marc Jacobs Daisy Garland with its calming blue daisy flowers is a soft musky floral take on the original Daisy.

The sharpness of the grapefruit has been removed and replaced with musky feminine light floral notes.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Garland is an Eau de Toilette so it’s not at all heavy. It kind of reminds me of what a pretty cloud would smell like on a summer day.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Pop Art Edition

Marc Jacobs Daisy Pop Art Edition was a limited edition red bottle with black daisies on the lid.

The scent is the original Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Parfum.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Hot Pink

Marc Jacob's Daisy Hot Pink
Marc Jacob’s Daisy Hot Pink

Marc Jacob’s Daisy Hot Pink is one of my favourite editions of Daisy because it focuses on the Strawberry note in the original.

By removing the grapefruit note which tends to overshadow the strawberry in the original Daisy, it lets the strawberry be the star of the show.

Marc Jacob’s Daisy Hot Pink is an Eau de Parfum so it does last better than the Eau de Toilette versions.

Although discontinued now, I find it similar to the new Daisy Eau So Intense which was released in 2021 and is covered later in this article.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine (2012)

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine
Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine (2012)

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine was a limited edition released alongside a limited edition Daisy Eau so Fresh Sunshine.

Just to be extra confusing, another perfume also called Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine was released in 2019 in a yellow bottle with a different scent.

This 2012 version of Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine is a fun tropical guava fragrance ideal for hot summer days.

There is a fruity mandarin orange, redcurrant and litchi which makes this the fruitiest Daisy so far.

This is a fun care free scent ideal for taking on vacation.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight

Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight
Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight

Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight was another limited edition release alongside a Daisy Eau so Fresh version.

This is quite different to the softness of the original Daisy because a sharp slightly sour quince fruit note is the primary scent, accompanied by a tart green apple.

After a few minutes a freesia floral note comes through along with a woody gardenia.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight is an Eau de Toilette so after the initial sharp freshness fades the perfume is pretty weak.

I think this is ideal for a very hot humid climate when you want a perfume to be very refreshing.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet
Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet is one of my favourite Daisy bottles and marketing campaigns; I love the pink and purple colours and the name ‘Sorbet’ reminds me of fruity freshness!

The purple colour in the branding represents the passionfruit fragrance note in here, which along with pear and pink grapefruit makes the opening notes super fruity and fun.

This is followed by a floral bouquet of wisteria, lilly-of-the-valley, jasmine and a hint of violet.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet keeps the signature Daisy scent but in my view, makes it more fun with the fruity note additions.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Blush

Marc Jacobs Daisy Blush saw the perfume jump onto the millennial blush pink bandwagon with a pretty pink marketing campaign and bottle. This was also the first limited edition to include Daisy Dream as well as Daisy Eau so Fresh.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Blush has been likened to Clinique Happy a number of times; it has that same light and uplifting feel with waterlily, honeysuckle and fresh pear notes.

This is another Eau de Toilette so don’t expect it to last a long time. This is a clean and simple alternative to Clinique Happy in my view.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Shine

In 2016 three limited edition bottles were released; Daisy Shine, Daisy Shine Pink, and Daisy Shine Red. These contain the original Daisy Eau de Toilette fragrance. I like the pink one best!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Kiss

Marc Jacobs Daisy Kiss is a lovely fresh peony and rose scent. This is definitely one of the most feminine in the range and could easily be a substitute for the more expensive Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet (my article on the Miss Dior range).

There is a lovely osmanthus scent which along with a warm apricot and the signature violet scent create a really pretty fragrance.

I think this fragrance could easily be mistaken for a more expensive brand.

I love the pink bottle so along with the gorgeous scent this is one of my favourite Daisies.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle

How gorgeous is the Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle bottle! I love the purple but the addition of the sparkly gold daisy flower on the lid is super cute – it brings out the child in me!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle, as indicated by the purple branding, is a violet fragrance. Violet is one of the notes in the original Daisy but here it is the star of the show.

If you’re not familiar with violet perfumes, the scent is very similar to the scent of makeup or lipstick; instantly identifiable as feminine.

Some people find violet a powdery scent so it can be divisive. I have a video on the top violet scents so check that out for more information on the violet perfume note.

Daisy 10th Anniversary Edition

The 10th anniversary of Marc Jacobs Daisy in 2017 was marked with two limited edition bottles; both contain the original Daisy Eau de Toilette perfume. Sometimes the white bottle is known as Marc Jacobs Daisy White, and the gold as Marc Jacobs Daisy Gold.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine (2019)

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine is part of a range of four limited edition Sunshine versions of the different Daisy perfumes. This is a super fruity fragrance which is all about a sweet strawberry, fruity berries and a soft marigold floral heart. There is still a relatively strong violet note in Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine which keeps it similar to the original Daisy scent. I’d recommend this perfume for summer (hence the name!) or to layer with the original Daisy to add a fruity vibe.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Daze

Marc Jacobs Daisy Daze is a light fresh fruity perfume. It doesn’t really have anything in comms with the original Daisy, instead this is a mandarin orange and mirabelle plum scent.

It reminds me a of a fresh sparkling orange drink on a hot summer day. Super refreshing, but not at all strong.

Like a lot of the limited edition Daisy perfumes I think this is ideal for summer when you want that refreshing orange hit.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Spring

Marc Jacobs Daisy Spring is an unexpected oriental fragrance, very different to what we have come to expect from the Daisy perfumes. The main note is cardamon which is a slightly spicy note, and combined with a rosewood and rose scent this creates a perfume I never would have expected from a Marc Jacobs Daisy.

As the branding suggests this does have a ‘green grass’ feel to the scent as well. I’d expect that someone who likes the other Daisy flankers probably wouldn’t like this one.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Intense

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Intense is one of my favourite Daisy perfumes and one of the best in the Marc Jacobs Daisy range. Firstly, this is an Eau de Parfum so it has some lasting power. Secondly, it keeps the signature fresh daisy scent but has added a honey and vanilla note which really bring out the strawberry top note. It has a fruitiness without being too sweet, and it has a fresh floridness but still has some projection.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Intense is my top recommendation from the Marc Jacobs Daisy range.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Skies

Released alongside two other Skies Limited Editions, Marc Jacobs Daisy Skies is an unusual addition to the Daisy perfume range.

The original Violet notes remain, however, a Seaweed note has been added. When was the last time you heard someone say ‘You know what, I really want to smell like seaweed’?

Anyway, there is also a fresh and sharp Quince alongside some floral notes which include Lotus. But its really that Seaweed note which will divide people.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Paradise

In my view, Marc Jacobs Daisy Paradise is very similar to the original Daisy Eau de Toilette. It has a floral Poppy note at its heart alongside a slightly woody undertone. It’s light, pretty and feminine. I do prefer the pink bottle to the original yellow one though!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Petals

Marc Jacobs Daisy Petals is a cute 20ml handbag sized version of the original Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette.

This is a cute gift and given the Daisy bottle has such a large lid, it makes sense to have a different bottle for travelling or popping in your handbag.

  • Together with every thing that appears to be building inside this specific subject matter, a significant percentage of viewpoints are relatively radical. Nevertheless, I beg your pardon, because I do not subscribe to your entire suggestion, all be it radical none the less. It seems to us that your remarks are not totally rationalized and in simple fact you are generally yourself not completely certain of your assertion. In any event I did enjoy reading it.

  • You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
