In 2021 Estee Lauder released The Luxury Collection. This set of eight fragrances includes a variety of clean, unique and long lasting Eau de Parfums. This article explains what each one smells like.

Tender Light

Tender Light is a clean, green Iris scent. The Iris note is accompanied by a Chinese Tea fragrance which creates a slightly aromatic undertone.

Tender Light is calming and sophisticated. After the initial fresh Bergamot top note the perfumes becomes a sensual tea fragrance supported by the feminine Iris floral note.

The longevity of Tender Light is pretty good, I’d classify it as medium when compared to some Iris perfumes which can be very heavy.

Radiant Mirage

Radiant Mirage is an elegant woody patchouli scent. Personally, this is one of my favourites from the Estee Lauder Luxury Collection range because it has a slightly watery sparkling feel which is so unusual.

In addition to the Patchouli there is a sandalwood and a hint of a Jasmine perfume note. Overall, this creates a unique and slightly ethereal aroma which could be worn on its own but also easily used to layer with other fragrances.

This isn’t a strong Patchouli like we see from many new releases at the moment, instead the Sandalwood softens it and the Jasmine to create a really classy perfume.

Sensuous Stars

Sensuous Stars is another unusual fragrance, this time Orris is the main perfume note. Orris is derived from the root of a plant and has a earthy-woody-mineral vibe to it. Orris is rarely used as the main fragrance note in a perfume, making Sensuous Stars quite unusual.

In addition to the Orris there is a warm plum note which although fruity, isn’t sweet. The third and final fragrance note is a hint of lavender which adds an aromatic and calming undertone.

Desert Eden

Desert Eden evokes an Arabian desert feel through its use of Olibanum, otherwise known as Frankincense. Olibanum has a balsamic, woody profile which creates an oriental feel to the fragrance.

In Desert Eden the Olibanum is accompanied by a Turkish Rose, which is also an oriental note, and a sandalwood undertone.

I’d say Desert Eden is one of the heaviest in the range. Olibanum is a strong perfume note and there is plenty included in Desert Eden to help it last for many hours.

Dream Dusk

Although Dream Dusk has pink branding and uses Cherry Blossom in its marketing, personally I think that the Geranium fragrance note is the dominant note in Dream Dusk.

The Cherry Blossom and Blackcurrant Blossom notes included in Dream Dusk are noticeable, but for me the slightly fruity feel which usually comes with Cherry Blossom is missing.

Instead I’d classify Dream dusk as a green floral fragrance, which has an ‘English Country Garden’ feel caused by the Geranium note.

Pretty and feminine, this is ideal for spring mornings and English afternoon tea.

Blushing Sands

Blushing Sands is a relatively simple musk fragrance. Pink pepper and vetiver accompany the clean musk; I find the vetiver in particular creates a slightly green and very fresh vibe to the musk.

There is a unisex feel to Blushing Sands; given the three fragrance note which make up the scent are used widely in male and female fragrances, I definitely think this could be worn by any gender.

Again, Blushing Sands feels classy, though probably less unique than some of the others in the range, simply because musk is widely available (I recommend the Narcisso Rodriguez; my review of their range here).

Paradise Moon

I love the name Paradise Moon! The branding too is beautiful. But what does it smell like? Well, Paradise Moon is a leather fragrance. Again, this perfume gives me very unisex vibes with the strong and long-lasting leather note evoking leather jackets and an edginess which only leather can make you feel.

The leather is accompanied by Osmanthus and Laburnum, however, personally all I can really smell is leather in this scent. I’m a big Osmanthus fan but I don’t really notice it in Paradise Moon.

I’d say this fragrance is suitable for any occasion or time of year; you just need to want to smell of leather.

Infinite Sky

Infinite Sky is a Peppery Vanilla scent. It’s unusual to have a warm vanilla mixed with a sharp Pepper perfume note.

At first, the Pepper is almost overwhelming; creating a very sharp, fresh and spicy feeling. However, after a few minutes the vanilla begins to come through, with the fragrance eventually landing at an equal mix between the two scents. There is also a hint of a slight floral note from the leatherwood which is included in the mix, but the Pepper is so strong I find it dominates over it.

Refreshing and clean feeling, Infinite Sky is for fans of spicy scents and would be ideal for during the day or even layering with a vanilla scent to add spice.
