Twilly d’Hermès

Twilly d’Hermès was launched in 2017 and has been a really successful launch for Hermes.

Twilly is an oriental fragrance which majors on spicy white floral notes.

A Tuberose, Orange Blossom and Jasmine heart is made spicy with sharp notes of Ginger and Bitter Orange.

After a few minutes Twilly becomes slightly powdery as well.

Personally, I think Twilly is a classic and traditional scent. I associate this type of fragrance with perfumes from pre-1995. It’s certainly classy and elegant; it smells expensive. However, the scent isn’t typical of new release perfume this decade – this is no millennial white floral.

Twilly d’Hermès Eau Poivrée

Twilly d’Hermès Eau Poivrée is completely different to the original Hermes Twilly; it doesn’t have any of the same perfume notes.

Twilly d’Hermès Eau Poivrée is a classic Rose fragrance. Eau Poivrée translates to ‘pepper’ in English, which in this instance is referring to the pink pepper perfume note.

So what does Pink Pepper smell like? Well, firstly it isn’t like black pepper. Pink pepper is actually a berry which has a slightly spicy, woody tone. It’s often paired with rose because it creates an oriental feel to a rose note.

Patchouli is the base note in Twilly d’Hermès Eau Poivrée, which again gets a spicy feel from the pink pepper.

I think fans of Givenchy L’interdit Rouge would like Twilly d’Hermès Eau Poivrée.

Twilly d’Hermès Eau Ginger

The latest edition toe the Twilly perfume range is much fresher and sharper than its predecessors. The name is definitely accurate – this is a mega gingery perfume!

Ginger is the top, middle and base note in Twilly d’Hermès Eau Ginger. There is a floral undertone which is slightly noticeable; this comes from a Peony perfume note.

Twilly d’Hermès Eau Ginger also has a Cedar undertone which creates a green, crisp base.

I’d recommend Twilly d’Hermès Eau Ginger for humid weather and daytime. It lasts about three hours despite being an Eau de Parfum, I think simply because ginger isn’t a strong fragrance ingredient (my article on the best Ginger perfumes).

Tutti Twilly d’Hermès

Tutti Twilly d’Hermès is a very fresh ginger perfume which brings the ‘tutti fruity’ vibe with a lychee top note; its my favourite from the range. This is a light perfume made for hot summer days when you want a fresh fragrance which lifts your mood. I don’t find it as heavy as the previous version of Twilly and I think it would layer well with them all.
