Parfums de Marly was started in 2009 and is inspired by the French aristocratic Versailles court of King Louis XV. There are currently ten women’s perfumes from Parfums de Marly, this article explains what each smells like.
The Parfums de Marly branding is made up of the typical pastel colours of the Court of Versailles, as well as the famous horses which the King kept there. Pastel colours were very popular, especially for the ladies dresses (think Marie Antoinette).
Parfums de Marly are available at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus in the USA and Escentual in the UK and Europe.

Parfums de Marly Delina
Delina is probably the most famous and best-selling perfume for Parfums de Marly. It’s millennial pink perfume bottle and signature rose scent make it irresistible to those looking for something feminine and high quality.
Delina is a strong rose perfume which is combined with a sharp and slightly sour lychee and rhubarb perfume note. It’s quite similar to Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl in my opinion.
There is a slightly musky cashmere feel to the fragrance which really does last all day.
Delina has great projection and longevity. If you love the scent, I think it is worth the high price tag because the quality of the fragrance means you don’t need many sprays to get a great long lasting scent.
Parfums de Marly Delina Exclusif
Delina Exclusif is Parfums de Marly’s oriental take on the original Delina perfume. The rose and lychee remain but the rhubarb has been removed and instead a strong oud and incense have been added.
This is even stronger than Delina with the warm incense fragrance note lasting all day.
If you’re a fan of rose, incense and amber perfumes this is definitely one to try! A note of caution; if you love the original Delina it doesn’t mean you’ll like this because the oriental notes make this have quite a different feel.
Parfums de Marly Delina La Rosée
Parfums de Marly Delina La Rosée comes in a pretty transparent pink perfume bottle. This lighter bottle and branding represent the lighter feel of this fragrance compared to the original.
The signature rose and lychee notes of the original Delina are very much there but they are made fruiter and fresher through the addition of a lovely peony note.
There is a watery freshness to this perfume which makes it very wearable. If you find Delina too strong but love the scent I recommend Delina La Rosée.
Parfums de Marly Oriana
I love the Oriana hot pink perfume bottle; at first I assumed this would be a ‘pink fragrance’ like raspberry or strawberry. Oriana is actually a sweet orange perfume.
The scent reminds me of an orange flavour boiled sweet. It’s a warm brown sugar sweetness.
Just like Delina the lasting power of Oriana is great. It doesn’t have the muskiness of Delina so I think I prefer it.
It’s sweet without being sickly and has a slightly floral undertone from an orange blossom perfume note.
Parfums de Marly Valaya
Spring 2023 sees the release of Parfums de Marly Valaya; a fragrance created for hot days in Spring and Summer. The fragrance opens with refreshing citrus notes and a touch of aldehyde which adds a classic feeling to the fragrance. Other traditional fragrance notes like lily-of-the-valley and musk then follow creating a very delicate scent. As Valaya settles a vetiver fragrance note is what remains; leaving a slightly woody, green feeling on the skin.
Parfums de Marly Cassili
I’ve not really smelled anything like Parfums de Marly Cassili before. It has a warm plum note and a warm tonka bean; mixed with an edible vanilla vibe the perfume feels warm and gourmand.
There are however floral notes in the scent mix and also a slight tartness from redcurrant.
Cassili is a really unique scent; it’s notes mix together to create a warm plum liquor vibe which is sophisticated and certainly unusual.
Parfums de Marly Athalia
Parfums de Marly Athalia is a strong iris fragrance. In perfumery, iris flowers aren’t actually used; instead the root of the iris plant which is known as orris is where the fragrance comes from.
The iris is complimented with a musk note and an orange blossom; but predominantly this fragrance is all about iris.
Iris is a quite strong and traditional perfume note.
If you like iris this is one of the strongest perfumes you can buy, if you’re not sure if you like iris then I recommend trying Athalia before you buy it.
Parfums de Marly Meliora
Blackcurrant, red berries and cassis make Meliora Parfums de Marly’s fruitiest fragrance.
There is also a subtle floral bouquet which accompanies the berry notes, making Meliora very feminine and pretty.
Often fruity perfumes can smell a bit too sweet or even tacky but Meliora like all the Parfums de Marly fragrances is elegant.
This is definitely one of my favourites in the range!
Parfums de Marly Safanad
Parfums de Marly Safanad is a beautiful orange blossom perfume.
Safanad reminds me of a stronger Elie Saab Le Parfum, with the orange blossom complimented by a fresh pear and orange top note.
There is also a vanilla in the base which adds a warm sweetness not dissimilar to the new Oriana scent.
Safanad is another one of my favourites in the range!
Parfums de Marly Sedbury
Parfums de Marly Sedbury is an aromatic lavender, sage and amber scent.
With the signature strong Parfums de Marly scent, Sedbury has a tuberose and jasmine which combine with an amber and benzoin to create a warm heavy scent.
Sedbury has quite a vintage feel, mainly due to the strong white floral notes and the amber undertones.
This is a perfume for classic floral scent lovers.
Parfums de Marly Darcy
Darcy is a classic chypre scent; a lemon and orange top note leads into a rose and jasmine heart, followed by a strong and sweet patchouli base note.
Given how unique the other female Parfums de Marly fragrances are, I think Darcy is the most pedestrian fragrance in the line.
It reminds me of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle which is a world wide best seller – so not a bad perfume to be similar to!
