Flower by Kenzo, sometimes known as Kenzo Poppy due to its Poppy shaped bottle and imagery. The unique perfume bottle stands out and is instantly recognisable; the entire range use the same bottle shape but with different poppy themed imagery on them. This article reviews all the different versions of Flower by Kenzo which are still available today (including discontinued fragrances) and links to where you can buy them.

Flower by Kenzo
The original Flower by Kenzo fragrance is an iconic 2000s perfume and one which I had when it first came out. It’s know for being a feminine, powdery scent which has a clean wearability to it. It’s also an Eau de Parfum and so has longevity. I often recommend Flower by Kenzo as a good work or office fragrance, as well as a more affordable alternative to Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum. Alongside a powder note a Palma Violet and Vanilla are also noticeable; both of which have good lasting power.
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Toilette
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Toilette was released in 2021. It’s a distinctly different fragrance to the original Eau de Parfum and has lighter coloured flower on the bottle. The perfume opens with a citrus and Ginger top note; immediately its noticeably fresher than the original. A green Mimosa and Camomile heart follows with a musky Vanilla base that echos the Eau de Parfum. Overall, Flower by Kenzo Eau de Toilette is much lighter and more suited to summer time than the original.
Flower by Kenzo Ikebana
2023 sees Kenzo use cherry blossom for the first time in their Flower by Kenzo range. Flower by Kenzo Ikebana Eau de Parfum (Ikebana is a style of Japanese floristry) is a creamy sandalwood perfume with a super feminine floral heart of tuberose and sandalwood. I really like this perfume and think the change in direction for the range really makes it relevant for a new generation.
The lasting power and projection are medium I’d say; a few hours. It isn’t too strong so could easily be worn throughout the year.
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Eau de Parfum
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet is, in my view, a more modern fragrance than the original Flower by Kenzo. Powdery scents aren’t as popular in the 2020s and I think Poppy Bouquet would work well for a young girl who doesn’t even recall the original Kenzo Flower fragrance. The main note is a sparkling Gardenia which is flattered by a fresh and fruity Pear note.
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Eau de Parfum is discontinued but still available at Notino, The Fragrance Shop, and Amazon. In Australia its available at Fresh Fragrances.
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Eau de Toilette
The Eau de Toilette version of Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet is relatively similar to the Eau de Parfum. The Gardenia is slightly sweeter due to a Green Almond note and Mandarin orange, and the scent itself isn’t as long lasting as it’s an Eau de Toilette.
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Eau de Toilette is discontinued but still available at Notino.
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Couture
Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Couture is pretty much exactly the same as the original Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet.
Flower by Kenzo Essentielle
Flower by Kenzo Essentielle was a limited edition which came in an extra long bottle. I remember the shops had issues with stocking it because it didn’t fit on shelves!
In the original Flower perfume there is a hint of Incense with the Vanilla base, in Flower by Kenzo Essentielle the Incense and Vanilla are the stars of the show alongside the signature musky Rose. There is also a slightly spicy hint from a Black Pepper perfume note which makes Flower by Kenzo Essentielle an oriental fragrance.
Kenzo Flower Tag
Kenzo Flower Tag is a Rhubarb fragrance and one of the fruitiest versions of Flower by Kenzo. Blackcurrant and Peony accompany the Rhubarb to create a sweet, fruity cocktail which is fun and innocent.
Flower by Kenzo L’Elixir
Flower by Kenzo L’Elixir has a sweet Praline note which reminds me of Nina by Nina Ricci. A Raspberry top note adds to the fruity sweetness making Flower by Kenzo L’Elixir one of the sexiest and sweetest perfumes in the range.
Flower by Kenzo L’Eau Originelle
Flower by Kenzo L’Eau Originelle is a lighter and aquatic interpretation of the original Flower by Kenzo. Citrus and Ginger accompany a watery feel top note which is followed by light fruity floral notes of Peony and Peach. The signature powdery Violet note of the original is present too but the Vanilla note isn’t, which keeps Flower by Kenzo L’Eau Originelle Eau de Toilette very light.
Flower by Kenzo L’Eau Originelle is discontinued but is still available in the US at FragranceNet and in Europe at Perfume Click.
Flower by Kenzo Eau Florale
Flower by Kenzo Eau Florale is very different to the original Flower by Kenzo perfume. The ‘floral’ element is created by a refreshing Peony note; a light and slightly sweet scented flower which is uber-feminine. Grapefruit and Mandarin Orange create a citrus opening note which is light and refreshing. Flower by Kenzo Eau Florale is an Eau de Toilette and so I recommend it for the summer and daytime.
Flower by Kenzo Eau Florale is discontinued but still available in Europe at The Fragrance Shop and in the US at FragranceNet.
Kenzo Flower In The Air
Kenzo Flower In The Air came in a different style bottle to all the others in the Kenzo Flower perfume range. Kenzo Flower In The Air is a fruity Raspberry and Rose fragrance; quite different and more fruity than the original Flower by Kenzo. I think Raspberry is always a fun fragrance note to wear on vacation. The Rose and Raspberry mix reminds me of Mugler’s Angel Nova Eau de Toilette which is still available. Kenzo Flower In The Air is discontinued but available on Amazon.
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumière
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumière exaggerates the powdery element of the original Flower perfume. At first Peach and Floral notes create a feminine opening but after a few minutes this fades to reveal a powdery Violet notes which is clean and simple.
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumière is discontinued but still available at Walmart, Escentual, and Notino.
Flower by Kenzo L’Absolue
Flower by Kenzo L’Absolue is one of the heavier, more intense perfumes in the range. I find it has similarities to YSL Libre and Givenchy’s L’Interdit. A Saffron top note creates a slightly oriental feel which feels classy and expensive. Rose, Orange Blossom and musky Vanilla create echos of the original Flower by Kenzo. I recommend Flower by Kenzo L’Absolue if you like the original but are looking for something a bit more intense for the evening or for the Autumn and Winter months.
Flower by Kenzo L’Absolue is available at Macy’s and for the UK & Europe it’s available at Escentual.
Flower by Kenzo Red Edition
Flower by Kenzo Red Edition is a fun tropical fragrance which uses one of my favourite summer fragrance notes; Frangipani. This exotic floral scent is complimented by Orange Blossom and a fresh Orange top note. The signature powdery undertones of Kenzo Flower are still there but in this Red Edition they’re creamy and combine with Vanilla.
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Vie
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Vie has the most citrus, refreshing feel to it out of the fragrance range. Neroli, Petitgrain, Bergamot and Ginger all combine to create a refreshing opening note which is ideal for hot and humid days. This is then followed by Orange Blossom and the signature Flower by Kenzo musky Vanilla base.
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Vie is available at Notino, Walmart, and Amazon.
