Gardenia is a delicate white flower which is actually part of the coffee plant family. Although Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia is probably the most advertised perfume with Gardenia in its name, I don’t find it to have a particularly noticeable Gardenia note. Gardenia has a slightly green and aquatic floral tone which is sparkling and really pretty. It’s much lighter and fresher than other white floral notes like Jasmine and Tuberose. Estée Lauder’s AERIN range is a beautiful collection of fragrances which features various citrus and fresh floral scents. AERIN Gardenia Rattan combines Gardenia and tropical Tiare Flower to create a classy summer fragrance.
Tocca Florence
Tocca is a niche fragrance brand based in the US. Florence is one of their most popular fragrances; A fresh citrus and Apple reveal Gardenia as the main perfume note, as well as a refreshing Tuberose and a warmer Iris.

Jo Loves Golden Gardenia
It’s a little known fact that Jo Malone sold the Jo Malone London brand to Estée Lauder over ten years ago. She has since released a new brand called Jo Loves.
Jo Loves Golden Gardenia, which comes in a unique golden bottle, is a slightly aromatic, woody Gardenia scent. Cardamon and Suede add a sophisticated, and spa-like feeling to the perfume’s Gardenia making it feel quite relaxing and peaceful.
Van Cleef & Arpels Gardénia Pétale
Van Cleef & Arpels Gardénia Pétale is a crisp Gardenia fragrance which is probably one of the purest Gardenia scents in this list. Green undertones of Lily of the Valley and Jasmine help the perfume have body and lasting power. The Van Cleef & Arpels Collection Extraordinaire is a series of good quality fragrances which I highly recommend.
Elie Saab Le Parfum Essentiel
Elie Saab Le Parfum Essentiel combines the signature Orange Blossom and Orange of the Ellie Saab Le Parfum range with a pretty Gardenia scent. I think Elie Saab Le Parfum Essentiel is the prettiest and most innocent in the Elie Saab Le Parfum range.
Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia
The Elizabeth Taylor perfumes are the most successful celebrity fragrance range of all time. The brand continues to release no fragrances, and Gardenia is one of the more modern scents.
I think Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia is the most ‘green’ Gardenia perfume in this list. Lily of the Valley and green leaves create a outdoor feeling to the scent which feels natural; fans of Chanel 19 would like Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia.
Miller Harris Secret Gardenia
Miller Harris is a niche British fragrance brand. Their Secret Gardenia has an aquatic Gardenia note alongside feminine Violet and Ylang-ylang. It’s a refreshing perfume; reminiscent of fresh dew on a delicate Gardenia bud.
